Privacy Policy
Last updated: November 1, 2026
Voilà keeps your closet in your account so it follows you to any phone. It does not show ads, does not track you across apps or websites, and does not sell or share your data.
This policy explains what Voilà (the iPhone app and its server at voila-api.fluirlabs.com) collects, why, and the choices you have. It applies wherever you use Voilà.
Who is responsible
Voilà is made by Igor Leandro Chagas, an independent developer based in Ontario, Canada, who is the controller of your personal data. For any privacy question or request, write to [email protected]. The same person is the data protection contact ("encarregado") under Brazil's LGPD and the person in charge of the protection of personal information under Québec's Law 25.
What Voilà collects
| Data | What it is | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Account | Your email address, or the address Sign in with Apple gives us (it can be a private relay address). Your name only if you choose to share it. | To sign you in and keep your closet in your account. |
| Closet | Photos of your clothes with the background removed, and the details of each piece: category, colour, fabric warmth, formality, status and the like. | To suggest outfits from what you own and show your closet on every device you sign in to. |
| Outfits and taste | The outfits you wear, save or turn down, swaps, and the reason you give for "Not for me". | To avoid repeats and learn which looks you like. |
| Style profile | What you dress for, the looks and colours you pick, the "I run cold / warm" setting and, if you give it, your age range. | To tune suggestions. Your age range is optional. |
| Trips | Destinations, dates and occasions of the trips you plan. | To plan what to pack for the weather there. |
| Approximate location | When you allow location, the phone's position rounded to about 1 km, sent with each weather request. | To show your local weather. It is not stored in your account. |
| Purchases | Whether you have Voilà Premium, which plan, until when, and Apple's transaction identifier. Never your payment details, which Apple keeps. | To unlock Premium on all your devices. |
| Technical logs | Requests to the server: time, address requested, result and the IP address it came from. | To keep the service secure and working and to stop abuse. Kept 30 days. |
What stays on your phone
Backgrounds are removed and clothes are recognised on the phone itself. Location and camera details are removed from photos before anything is uploaded. City searches for trips are made with Apple's search on the phone.
What Voilà does not collect
No contacts, no advertising identifier, no browsing history, no analytics or advertising tools, no precise location. Voilà only uses the camera, photo library, location and notifications when you allow them, and you can turn each off in Settings.
Legal bases
Where the GDPR, UK GDPR, LGPD or similar laws apply, Voilà relies on:
- Contract: your account, closet, outfits, trips, weather and Premium are the service you asked for.
- Consent: location, camera, photos and notifications through your phone's permissions, and your optional age range. You can withdraw consent at any time in Settings or in the app.
- Legitimate interests: security, technical logs and enforcing the fair-use limits.
- Legal obligations: when the law requires us to keep or disclose something.
Who processes your data
Only these service providers handle data for Voilà, each for the purpose listed and under a data processing agreement:
| Provider | Role | Where |
|---|---|---|
| Oracle Cloud | Hosts the Voilà server and its database. | United States |
| Cloudflare | Network security and delivery for the server and this website; forwards email sent to fluirlabs.com. | Global network |
| Brevo | Sends sign-in code emails. | European Union |
| Apple | Sign in with Apple, App Store payments and Apple Weather. Weather requests come from our server with the rounded location and nothing that identifies you. | United States and worldwide |
We may disclose data if the law requires it, or to protect the rights and safety of users. If Voilà is ever transferred to someone else, this policy keeps applying to your data and you will be told first.
International transfers
Your data is stored in the United States. When it leaves the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, Brazil or Canada, it is protected by the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework where the provider is certified, or by the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses and their UK and Brazilian equivalents.
How long data is kept
- Your account and closet: until you delete your account. Pieces and outfits you delete are removed from the server 30 days later, so every one of your devices hears about the removal.
- If you cancel Voilà Premium: all your pieces are kept for one year. After that, pieces beyond the 20 of a free account are deleted, after warning emails 30 and 7 days before.
- Technical logs: 30 days.
- Backups: copies are replaced within 30 days, so deleted data leaves them within 30 days too.
Your rights
You can, at any time:
- Export your data: You › Privacy & data › Export my data gives you one file with your closet, photos, outfits, trips and style profile.
- Delete your account: You › Privacy & data › Delete account removes it and everything in it, on every device.
- Ask to access, correct, restrict or object to the use of your data, or ask any question, by writing to [email protected]. We answer within 30 days (15 days for LGPD requests about access) and may ask you to confirm the request from the email of your account.
- Complain to your data protection authority, for example your EU authority, the UK ICO, Brazil's ANPD, Québec's Commission d'accès à l'information or the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
US residents: Voilà does not sell or share personal information, or use it for targeted advertising or profiling with legal effects. You have the rights your state's law gives you, such as access, correction and deletion, and we will not treat you differently for using them.
Security
Connections are encrypted (HTTPS). Each account can only read its own data, the server's keys are kept off the code, and access to the server is limited to the developer. No system is perfectly safe; if a breach puts your data at risk, we will tell you and the authorities as the law requires.
Children
Voilà is not meant for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data. Where the law sets a higher age for consenting alone (up to 16 in some EU countries), younger users need a parent's agreement. If you think a child has given us data, write to us and we will delete it.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with a new date. For important changes we will also tell you in the app or by email before they apply.
